KPL will promote Kabaddi talent in country: Anil Gupta | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 5: J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association (AKA) said that Kabaddi has a great future in India and organising tournaments like Kabaddi Premier League (KPL) will promote more talent. Anil Gupta, president J&K AKA, while terming the game as a rural heritage of the country said that talent is present in ample in both our state and country but due to lack of training and support, players are not able to hone their skills. He further added that by organising tournament at National, State, City, Tehsil, and Block levels. we will be able to reinvent the popularity of the game. A majority of the youth talent are hesitating to take up the game as career as they find it not lucrative and promising. He appreciated and thanked J.S. Gehlot president Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India for organising events like KPL in country which will give fillip to the game. Gupta informed that eight teams representing various franchises participated in the KPL namely Krishna Kings, Hydrabad Horses, Delhi Dashers, Rajasthan Raiders, Haridwar Hunters, Chennai Cheetas, Dr. Anand Ongole Bulls and Lanco Lions. Each of the team had four international and six national level Kabaddi players. All the matches were played on the synthetic mat under the flood lights in fully air conditional indoor stadium and the entire championship was telecast live on DD sports
