Punjabi Lekhak Sangh felicitates Dr Baljit Raina | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 5: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu today felicitated Dr Baljit Raina, renowned Punjabi short story writer, playwright, poet, actor-director and critic for his best book award conferred by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for 'Sudheesh Pichouri Ne Keha Si', a collection of Punjabi short stories for the year 2010 at K.L. Saigal Hall. Rangil Singh, former education Minister, Punjabi scholar, intellect presided while Prof Lalit Magotra, prominent Dogri writer and President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu was chief guest and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary (K) graced the occasion as guest of honour. In his presidential address, Rangil Singh congratulated Dr. Baljit Raina and also applauded appreciated his contribution in the field of Punjabi literature being written in the state of Jammu Kashmir. He said that Dr Baljit Raina is a multifaceted personality and has established himself amongst his contemporary writer community in general. Rangil Singh also appreciated the role of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu especially in the tenure of Shamsher Singh Chouhalvi, President, PLS for their overall efforts for the promotion and development of Punjabi language, literature and culture in the State. Prof Lalit Magotra, while speaking on the occasion congratulated Dr Baljit Raina and said that Dr Raina has a versatile, multi-dimensional talent which which he has emply proved through his short stories and other styles of writings which include poetry, Drama and articles.
