Jammu, July 5: “Khoff” written by famous writer Gulzaar was presented today in connection with “Saat Din Hamare” by Nav Durga Kala Manch at Performing Art Studio.
The act was a solo performance by noted actor and theatre activist from Jammu Soham Kashyap. The act revolves around the story and the aftermaths of the Mumbai communal riots. The act involved inner conflicts of the human being finding it difficult to understand the situation that he has been forced due to the riots.
Being an actor of great acting potential Soham Kashyap was able to emulate all the emotions needed and that too with perfection. The inner conflicts and the quest for life was shown upto the mark. Kashyap has already proved himself as a confident actor from the state to be talked about.
Taking a diversion from its ritual, PAS staged two plays today. The demand increasing from different corners have made the organizers to accommodate more groups in the festival as Natraj Natya Kunj staged its Hindi play ‘TRP’ directed by Rishi Kumar.
The play was a satire on the different channels included News channels and Reality shows, which give importance to their TRP rather than content of the show.
In the play, the director tried to expose the different unfair means used by Channels to increase their TRP and left several question marks on reality shows which left bad impression in the minds of young generation. Among those who performed in the play included Abhishek Sharma, Rishi Kumar, Aaditya Bharti, Nitika Gupta, Aaina Sharma and Abhishek Bharti.
The chief guest Vidya Bhushan and other distinguished guests present on the occasion including Shiv Dev Singh and Mahesh Puri applauded the yeoman task of Aaditya Bhanu for managing a high profile theater festival and praised groups participating in the festival with great enthusiasm.
Tomorrow, senior theatre artist of the state Vikram Sharma would be performing an English rendition “The Untitled”.
