| Marigold flower training camp for farmers at Jammu | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: One day marigold flower training camp organized at green belt park Gandhi Nagar Jammu under the Leadership of K K Sharma, Director floriculture Jammu.
During the camp director floriculture, K K Sharma said that large number of growers from Samba and Kathua district adopted commercial floriculture and are good profit by growing off season marigold and his department trying hard to provide training and awareness to flowers growers at district and block level for Farmers of Jammu Division for diversification in agriculture.
Deputy director R S Bali assured farmers that department will provide technical know–how and financial assistance under various centrally sponsored schemes so that farmers of Jammu division earn better livelihood by growing flowers throughout the year.
A renowned environmentalist General Goverdharn Singh Jamwal motivated women farmers to go for medicinal plants specially Phalsa as an herbal drink in waste land.
Tajinder Singh, President Flower Grower’s Association had given a practical demonstration to farmers for growing of quality seedling of marigold in rainy season.
Dr R.K.Pandey associate professor SUKAST (J) given a complete training to farmers on package and practices of marigold
Dr Kuldeep Shrivastva and Mukesh Pandy have given training to farmers on integrated pest and disease management in marigold.
