7/6/2011 10:44:37 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, July 6: Calling for a fresh look in bringing dynamism in the implementation of SKEWPY, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that the prestigious scheme is aimed at defusing employment crisis in the State and providing handsome opportunity to youth to venture upon independently and confidently.
“The Government Departments and Jammu and Kashmir Bank involved in the implementation of SKEWPY have to re-orient themselves so far as this scheme is concerned”, he said maintaining that focused attention instead of routine approach is required to ensure benefits to entrepreneurs.
Chairing a high level meeting here to discuss matters relating to SKEWPY and to monitor its progress, the Chief Minister said that government intends to spend about Rs. 100 crores yearly on seed money for budding entrepreneurs. “The EDI and Jammu and Kashmir Bank have to keep pace in providing finances to the intending entrepreneurs making the system hassle-free and smooth”, he added.
The Chief Minister said that he has received some fresh and innovative ideas for making seed money distribution more easy, smooth and trouble-free.
Omar Abdullah said that SKEWPY has been appreciated at the level of Planning Commission of India and many States have asked Jammu and Kashmir to provide the blue print of the scheme to them so that they could replicate it in their States. “We have to deliver on fast track ensuring smooth transactions and trainings under the scheme”, he said directing the departments concerned to work with missionary zeal to make the scheme meaningfully successful.
