JTC rues lack of facilities at migrant camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 6: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) has expressed its grave concern over the lack of basic facilities in the Jagti Camp particularly the erratic proper power supply. Addressing a press conference here today, Jagti Tenement Committee, Migrant Camp, Jagti Nagrota, Chairman Shadi Lal Pandita apprised the media persons that to highlight the problems of the inmates, a 50 member committee was recently formed. The committee has so far held several meetings to discuss the various issues concerning the migrants putting up at Jagti Township. Pandita informed that in the meetings, the members have said that Government is adding to the sufferings of the inmates of this migrant camp by effecting prolonged power curtailments in this camp during these days of scorching heat. He further said the members have also resolved that till the time the migrants are properly rehabilitated, they can not be forced to execute agreements with Electric Department for their electric installations and pay huge electric charges because the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community has suffered huge loss of their properties during past 20 years of exile. Pandita, who is also General Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee (Minority Cell) J&K and President Soan Kashmir Front has appealed the community to be united in these tough times as conspiracy is being hatched against this migrant community at all levels.
