| DSW surrounded for over one hour in protest | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: The students of Jammu University continued their protest under the banner of National Secular Forum (NSF) demanding conduct of Students Union election in the campus at the earliest.
The agitated students surrounded the Dean Students Welfare Prof N K Tripathi and raised slogans against the University administration.
They alleged that administration was deliberately delaying the election so as to bereave the student community of their rights. NSF president Vikas Sharma, who led the agitation, said Council had approved the conduct of student union election but, the Vice Chancellor has not been able to conduct the same despite many reminders from the office of Governor.
He asked the Dean Students Welfare to conduct the election as early as possible otherwise they would continue their agitation and intensify it.
Among those who participated in the protest were Surjit Choudhary, Ravi Choudhary, Parshotam Singh, Shafqat Malik, Sandeep Charak, Sanjay Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Rohit, Ajay and others.
