Three militants killed

Srinagar, Nov 26
A residential house where two militants were holed up was gutted during an encounter at Pampore, while one militant owing allegiance to Harkat-ul-Mujahideen was killed in the outskirts at Shopian.
The sleuths of 44 RR , 69 BN CRPF and SOG, according to reports reaching here, laid a siege around Shah Latoo area in the outskirts of Shopian during which a group of five militants got engaged into an encounter with security forces. Eye witness said that gun battle continued for a very long time during which four militants managed to flee from the besieged area, but one local militant identified as Mohd Shafi Chopan alias Shuaib S/O Gh Mohd R/O Aloora Shopian was killed in the encounter. The age of the slain militant is stated to be 15 years and he had joined militant ranks just 16 days back, when he mysteriously went missing. The recovery of arms and ammunition from his possession is being claimed.
Meanwhile sleuths of 50 RR and SOG laid a siege around Mej locality in Pampore area during which two militants holed up in a house got engaged into an encounter with security forces. The locals informed that security forces fired mortar sheels on the residential house of Ab Ghani Khanday which was consequently reduced to rubble. The search operations are on and efforts are continuing to take out the bodies of slain militants from the debris of the gutted house. The militants and security forces are engaged in a gun battle at Rampora Bandipora in North Kashmir for the last two consecutive days and recovery of any militant has not been reported from the area so for.
