7/7/2011 10:52:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, July 7: District Youth Congress Udhampur has alleged that some officials of administration are stopping the personal vehicles of Amarnath yatris from Dyalachack and Samba link roads to move towards Dhar Road for reaching Udhampur.
Addressing a press conference here today, Youth Congress leader Sumit Mangotra said that under a discriminating policy, authorities are not allowing the Amarnath pilgrims to use Dhar road for transportation.
He informed that the route is about 50 kms shortest than via Jammu to Udhampur adding that at present heavy jams are observed on Jammu-Udhampur road stretch due to a large number of vehicles and bad weather.
Mangotra further said that Samba and Dayalachak alternative routes could help smoothen the traffic flow. He said this alternative route shall provide economic security to the unemployed youths and Amarnath Yatris can also view the Mansar lake.
He said that he will submit a memorandum to Chief Minster Omar Abdullah for appropriate action in this regard.
