Downloaded mark sheets, new menace for the JU students

JAMMU, July 7: The students of Part III who want to seek re-evaluation of respective subjects have become confused by the ‘downloaded mark sheet’ system introduced by the Jammu University.
Scores of students complained that respective colleges are not accepting the mark sheets which have been downloaded from the website of the university.
However, while the JU authorities are happy with the technology introduction, but it is the students who are suffering due to lack of coordination between officials.
It is pertinent to mention here that in a notification issued by the JU on July 5 students who want to get their papers re-evaluated are directed to download their mark sheet and then fill up the re-evaluation form from the university. This notification also directs the same for the students who want to admit themselves in the colleges.
Shailmeen Singh- a student said that even after the direction of the university to admit the students in the colleges on the downloaded mark sheet, the college authorities have not admitted them.
Many complained that management of the intuitions misbehaving with the admission seekers and those who want revaluation of their result. Students said that they went to get admission through the downloaded mark sheet on the direction of the notification of JU but it did not work and they were not admitted.
When contacted to Controller of examinations G.M Bhat said respective colleges have been notified about the new system and issue will be raised with them.
“It was introduced so that it gets easier for the candidates to get their marks sheet, if there is any problem they are facing, we will discuss it with the management”, Prof. Bhat said.
He said that new technology is being introduced for the convenience of the students.
Strangely when contacted principal Govt. College for Women (GCW) Gandhi nagar Prof. Nalini Kohli said that the downloaded mark sheets are allowed to get admitted in the college and no student has tried to get the admission through it till now.
