| Verma discusses Independence Day arrangements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, JULY 7: District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, convened an officer meeting to discuss arrangements for forthcoming Independence Day celebration here today.
During the meeting, it was decided that the main function will be held at Mini Stadium Parade Ground, where the VIP will host the National Flag. He will also take Salute at the March Past by parade contingents comprising of JKAP, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Fire Services, Auxiliary Police, NCC, Government Boys and Girls Higher Secondary etc. The cultural programmes will also be performed by JKAACL. Information Department was asked to provide PAS at the venue besides making arrangements for Shahnai Vadan at prominent buildings. Threadbare discussions was held with regard to arrangements to be made at the venue of the main function, which included composition of contingent, security arrangements, proper traffic management, uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation, sitting arrangements, Medicare facilities, Rehearsals, barricading and other issues pertaining to smooth conduct of the event.
Sanjeev Verma directed the concerned departments to ensure better coordination to avoid any lapse.
The DDC He asked the health department and Red Cross to make necessary arrangements to deal with any emergency. He also asked the concerned department to make arrangements for the cultural programme and providing proper facilities for the participants. He asked the Manager, Mini Stadium parade Ground for proper face lifting of the venue.The DDC exhorted upon all the line departments to work in close synergy so that foolproof arrangements are made well in time.
SSP Jammu Anand Jain, ADC Jammu Sheetal Nanda, Joint Director Information Jammu Soujanya Sharma, Joint Commissioner JMC Babu Ram, Secretary JDA M. Y. Malik, SP Traffic Z N Manhas, XEN PHE Ashok Gandhotra, Tehsildar Jammu Er. Subash Chib, and other senior officers of various departments attended the meeting.
