Rs 66500 realizes from defaulters as fine | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, July 7: In order to make an effective check on the price of Essential Commodities during ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2011, a team of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution(CA&PD) led by Assistant Director CA&PD Department, Udhampur, S. Rajinder Singh, Assistant Controller Metrology, Anita Sharma, Naib Tehsildar, Chenani, Rafiq Ahmed, Tehsil Supply Officer, Chenani, Kuldeep Singh under overall supervision of Deputy Director CA&PD, Udhampur- Reasi, Ashok Kumar Pandita made an extensive checking on National Highway fro Udhampur to Patnitop. About 50 establishments were checked out of which 20 were challaned and a fine of Rs. 66500 were realized on spot from the defaulters. The Hotel and Dhaba owners were warned to desist from using domestic cylinders at their commercial establishments, the shopkeepers were warned to display the rate lists at their respective establishments. They were further directed not to over charge from the yatries, otherwise strict action under Essential Commodities Act will be taken against them.
