Cabinet approves construction of Rs 147 cr 4th Tawi bridge | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 7 : The State Cabinet which met here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accorded administrative approval to the construction of 4-lane pre-stressed bridge (4th Tawi Bridge) downstream of the existing bridge over river Tawi at Jammu at an estimated cost of Rs 147 crore. It also gave nod to the enhancement of lifelong pension from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 per month in favour of electric Shock victims Ravi Kumar and Rinku Jee Bhat. It was desired that any pending cases of electric Shock victims be also brought for consideration of the cabinet by the Revenue department. The cabinet approved creation of a special court for trial and disposal of the cases investigated by CBI in the State and creation of 13 posts of different categories. It also sanctioned re-employment of Soba Ram, Ex- Joint Director, Hospitality and Protocol department on contract basis for a further period of six months from July 1, 2011. The cabinet also okayed J&K State Hydro Electric Projects Development policy-2011. |
