Training programme on “Operationalization of ATMA & SREP” organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 08: State Agricultural Management and Extension Training institute (SAMETI-Jammu) has organised two days’ training programme entitled “Operationalization of ATMA & SREP” for BTTs of Rajouri and Poonch district from July 7-8, in Farmers’ Hostel, Main Campus, Chatha to educate and train block level extension functionaries of agriculture and allied departments for the successful operationalization of ATMA (Agricultural Technology Management Agency) and SREP (Strategic Research & Extension Plan) work. In this training course, more than 100 members of Block Technology Teams (BTTs) constituted under ATMA of twin Districts of Rajouri & Poonch are participating. The training programme was inaugurated by Dr.B. Mishra, Vice-Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu. He stressed for more coordination between University scientists and extension functionaries for improving the socio-economic status of farmers of Jammu region. He further said that with the introduction of ATMA in J&K State, the role and responsibilities of field functionaries has increased manifold. As such, periodic training is very essential for its effective functioning and achieving the physical targets. Dr. Mishra, urged upon the extension officers to work with all dedication and devotion to make this program a great success. Dr. K.S. Risam, Director, SAMETI-Jammu while welcoming the chief guest Dr. B. Mishra, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu briefed about the activities of SAMETI-Jammu and the objective of this training. Dr. M.P. Gupta, Dy. Director, SAMETI-J passed on vote of thanks.
