Sukhnandan lays foundation of school labs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 08:: Bharatiya Janta Party MLA Sukhnandan Kumar, alongwith school principal Tahira Praveen, laid foundation stone for the construction of three rooms for setting up of Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School Phalain Mandal falling under Marh assembly constituency. A total of 15 lakh rupees will be spend for the construction and making available all the required equipments in the laboratories for the convenience of the science students. Sukhnandan Kumar while speaking on the occasion said that his constituency is spread over a vast area with large population. “During the last about two years I have been working towards mitigation of the problems of the people and getting the developmental activities accelerated” he said. As far government schools, they are in dozens but many of them lack the requirted facilities due to which the students have to move towards cities for getting education. He said these institutions have highly qualified and more experienced teaching staff but in absence of required infrastructure and related facilities, the admissions in higher classes are decreasing with each passing year. The government expresses concern over the migration of rural students towards cities but it never deem it necessary to go through the reasons behind it. If the government run educational institutions are provided with all the facilities, no one from a village will prefer to go out of the area for getting education. He expressed hope that with the completion of this project, hundreds of students of Phalain Mandal and surrounding villages will be benefited every year. Principal Tahira Praveen expressed her gratitude to the MLA for taking keen interest in development of the educational institutions of the constituency. Besides PWD Junior Engineer Gagandeep Singh and staff members of the school, a number of prominent social and political figures including Sarpanch Subhash Sharma, Kuldeep Singh, Bishan Dass Sharma, Subhash Chander and Bodh Raj were present on the occasion.
