| NC mobilising workers to observe Akbar Jehan’s death anniversary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 8: In connection with the observance of death anniversary of Akbar Jehan falling on July 11, a series of meetings were organized by Women Wing of National Conference led by its senior leader Laxmi Dutta.
Addressing a meeting of Party activists at Ram Vihar Janipur today Dutta asked the party activists especially women to observe this day at district and block levels also.
While highlighting the contribution of Akbar Jehan, NC leader said that she worked till her last breath for the welfare of women especially those living in backward and far flung areas.
She said the best tribute to this great leader would be that we should dedicate ourselves for the fulfilment of her dreams to make the Naya Kashmir slogan of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, a reality.
Dutta asked Party activists to ensure their full participation in the programme to make it a grand success.
She said the Government led by Omar Abdullah is committed for welfare and upliftment of women so it has launched many welfare schemes for them. She urged the women to strengthen the hands of Abdullah for overall development of all three regions of the state.
