DC visits Yatri Niwas, enquires yatris about facilities | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 8: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today visited the Yatri Niwas Jammu and other lodging sites across the city, where the pilgrims have been accommodated, to review the facilities being provided to Shri Amarnathji yatries by the administration. Verma went around the Yatries Niwas and enquired about the facilities being provided to the yatris including power, drinking water, sanitation, transport, security, langar arrangements and other facilities. He expressed satisfaction over the elaborate arrangements being made by all the departments and hoped that this year’s yatra will also be a grand success. He directed the XEN PHE to ensure safe drinking water to the yatris. He also directed the PDD authorities to ensure that no unnecessary shut down be effected. He also interacted with the yatris and enquired about the facilities being provided to them by the administration. The yatris expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration for the stay of Yatris stranded due to stoppage of the Yatra in wake of inclement weather condition. The Yatris appreciated the arrangements made at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar and expressed gratitude to the government for taking deep interest in providing them better facilities. Deputy Commissioner also visited the Chader Bagha, Government Girl Higher Secondary School Canal Road along with the officers to inspect the building where the Amarnath Yatris are to be accommodated. SP City North, Health Officer JMC, XEN PHE and other senior officers of PDD and allied departments also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
