DDC convenes Sarpanches’ meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, July 8: To interact with newly elected Sarpanches of the Doda district and to apprise them about their responsibilities for betterment of people, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan today convened a meeting of all 231 Sarpanches of the district Doda. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that Sarpanches and Panches are the eyes and ears of the administration and asked them to keep close monitoring on developmental activities going on in their respective areas. He asked them to work in a coordinated manner so that the developmental process in the District could be further extended in each and every sector in the District. He said that people participation in the developmental activities is vital for overall upliftment of in rural as well as in urban areas. The DDC asked the Sarpanches to gear up and utilize their convincing ability in minimizing the unemployment issue in the district and to motivate unemployed youth of their respective areas to get technically trained in various trades from the reputed institutions across the state and District and establish their own income generating units through various self employment schemes sponsored by the State and Central Government. He urged upon the youth of the district to become job providers rather than job seekers and asked them to avail benefits of the Sher-e- Kashmir Employment Welfare Programme for Youth.
