Dy CM visits Nunwan, Chandanwari base camps, takes stock of facilities | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT PAHALGAM, July 8- Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today visited Nunwan and Chandanwari Yatra Base Camps and took stock of the facilities being provided to the Amarnathji yatries. A team of senior officers of various departments accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during the visit. Deputy Chief Minister also chaired a meeting of officers of line departments camped at these Base Camps and reviewed the arrangements made by the Government for smooth conduct of yatra. Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag Kafiyat Ahmad Rizvi apprised the Deputy Chief Minister that sufficient quantity of food grains and other essentials have been kept available for the convenience of yatris. Besides elaborate arrangements of medicare, power, water supply and tented accommodation have been put in place for the yatris. He was told that a joint control room has also been set-up at these places so that yatris do not face any inconvenience. Stressing upon the officers, Tara Chand asked for providing better facilities to the yatris so that message of composite culture of Kashmir would reach to other states of the country through these devotees. He also enjoined upon them to keep close coordination to ensure smooth and successful yatra. The Deputy Chief Minister went around the stalls of all the departments and assessed the facilities being provided to the devotees. He also inspected the Langars and took stock of quality of eatable items being provided to the yatries. Tara Chand interacted with yatris and enquired about the facilities being provided to them during yatra. The yatris appreciated the arrangements made by the State Government.
