Court orders jail authorities to handover Nagar Singh to police | Chopra murder case | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jul 8 : Court today ordered jail authorities to hand over custody of Nagar Singh to police for completing investigations in infamous Chopra murder case. In an application filed by SSP Jammu Incharge SIT in Chopra Family Murder case through Inspector Sunil Jasrotia SHO Police Station Bahu Fort seeking transfer of custody of accused Nagar Singh from Judicial Custody to police custody in FIR No 107/2006, police submitted that the accused Nagar Singh was required for investigation and custodial interrogation for a period of fifteen days. 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul after perusing CD file found out that accused Nagar Singh was involved in case FIR No 107/2006 u/s 302/396/109/120-B/201/203 RPC. He was informed that accused was presently in judicial custody in much publicized Amandeep Murder case and keeping in view the nature of offence alleged to have been committed by accused Nagar Singh and stage of investigation in Chopra Murder case, he is shifted from Judicial Custody to police custody in Chopra Murder case for a period of 11 days. Court directed Superintendent Hiranagar Jail to handover custody of accused Nagar Singh to Investigating Officer of the case for eleven days. Accused shall be medically examined in terms of order passed on July 8, 2011. --JNF |
