39th ‘tree talk’ held in Islamia College | | | 39th ‘tree talk’ held in Islamia College Srinagar, July 9 (KNS): 39th series of popular environment event ‘tree talk’ was held at Islamia College here on Saturday. The venue chosen was lush green Botanical Garden set in the backdrop of Famous Hari Parbat and Sarika Devi Temple. The participants comprised of over 300 college students, teachers, media persons and citizens who under the leadership of O P Sharma and Dr Khursheed Ganaie took keen interest in the ‘tree talk’ initiative which lasted for 3 hours. While appreciating the programme, Principal Islamia College and well known scholar of History Prof Mohammad Salim Khan emphasized the need of sensitization of student community in the natural environs outside class rooms and science labs. He reflected on age old wisdom of ethnic communities in judicious utilization of bio-resources and water resources.
