| Saber concludes 3-day tour of Kathua district | | | JAMMU NOV-26 Former Minister and senior Congress leader Ch. Lal Mohammed Sabir concluded his 3-day extensive tour of Kathua district. During the tour, he listened to the problems of people and addressed a series of public meetings. Addressing the people at various places, the Congress leader enumerated the measures taken by the government for socio-economic transformation of the society and rapid development of the State. Strongly criticizing the separatist for their misinterpretation of Islam, Sabir said that Jehad is a holy war and does not permit use of gun or killing of innocents. He cautioned the people to remain vigilant against the divisive forces who are hell bent to disintegrate the state on the name of religion and region. He said that terrorism is against the tenants of Islam that preaches non-violence, mutual brotherhood and co-existence. Referring to the demands of the Gujjars, he said that the government is seized of these and would take all possible steps to overcome these at the earliest. He advised the people to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Ghulam Nazi Azad for speedy implementation of massive development schemes undertaken in length and breadth of the State. A large number of prominent Gujjar leaders including Maulvi Mohammed Zakria Imam Jamia Masjid Kathua, Ch.Qasim Banyan, Ch. Mohammed Shafi, Alim Din, Abdul Hamid and Haji Ghulam Rasool who were also present at the function highlighted the problems of the Gujjar community and sought Sabir’s intervention in solving these at the earliest.
