| Riyaz Ibn Nishat joins PDP | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 10: Former Joint Director Handicrafts and a prominent social worker of Kishtwar Riyaz Ahmed Ibn Nishat Kishtwari joined Peoples Democratic Party in presence of party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
Welcoming Riyaz Ahmed in the party folds, Mufti said that the doors of the party are open for all those who want to work for the betterment and upliftment of the people.
Riyaz Ahmed, who is son of a prominent and renowned poet, scholar and author Nishat Kishtwari, said that the policy and people friendly approach of the party was the driving force for him to decide to work under the leadership of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
He said that the erstwhile Doda district has always been neglected and discriminated with in every sphere of life and its people will now fight for the cause under the banner of PDP.
He said that it was Mufti Muhammad Sayeed which laid the foundation for grant of district status for Kishtwar. It was his vision and policies which laid the foundation of most of the prestigious projects including Warwan road, Singpora road and Vailoo tunnel were laid. Even the prestigious Kisthwar-Anantnag road project was put in backburner and only PDP led government revived it.
