Herbal ‘Tree talk’ at Channi Himmat Park

JAMMU, July 10: A large number of morning walkers and tree lovers from across the society gathered at sector 7 Park Channi Himmat Jammu today for a tree talk programme.
Van Sampda a noted NGO for taking up environmental issues, arranged this programme, President of society K R Padha IAS briefed the gathering about the importance of plants in our daily life.
Bhola Nath Sharma, a noted scholar, linked the event with Anna Hazare’s ancestral village from where the plantation movement later culminated to present day Hazare movement. He also cited an event of Jammu city where a person hanged himself with a tree to save it from being axed.
Director Floriculture Jammu , K K Sharma briefed the gathering about the importance of trees and their daily use for maintaining the health of a person.
He also lauded the efforts of noted IFS Officer O P Sharma Vidyarthi for starting this Tree talk initiative, where more and more peoples are joining across the state.
