Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011: Weather forecast during 11th -15th July | Yatra progressing satisfactorily on both routes | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JULY 10 – Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji is progressing satisfactorily on both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes. According to Mr. R. K. Goyal, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, with improvement in the overall weather conditions in the Yatra area since yesterday morning, the movement of Yatris along both the routes has been proceeding smoothly. Till last night over 2.34 lakh pilgrims had completed their Yatra. In regard to the weather conditions in the Yatra area, Mr. Goyal stated that as per the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast for the next 5 days, i.e. from 11th July to 15th July, the sky is likely to remain cloudy in the Kashmir Division. Giving further details of the forecast, he said that it is expected to remain partly cloudy on 11th, 12th and 14th July, whereas 13th July is likely to mainly clear. However, light rain/thunder is expected to occur at isolated places on 15th July, 2011. He advised all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji, to ascertain the to-date weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on their pilgrimage.
