Employees threaten to protest if demands not met

Jammu, July 10:
Jammu and Kashmir employees today gave an ultimatum to the state government to agree to their demands by July 17 or they will protest to press for them.
Employees have threatened to protest on July 18 if state government failed to fulfil their demands including arrears according to the 6th pay commission, policy for regularisation and enhancement of retirement age.
“We will march toward civil secretariat here and hold massive protest demonstration on July 18 if the government failed to concede to the agreement of demands before 17 July,” Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action committee (JKEJAC) State Coordinator Ram Kumar Sharma told reporters.
He said government should grant 6th pay commission arrears, implement policy for regularisation of daily wage workers, enhance retirement age from 58 to 60 and remove pay anomalies.

Arjun Mahajan, an upcoming actor from Jammu visits hometown

JAMMU, July 10: A function was held here to facilitate and welcome the hero of Jammu, Arjun Mahajan actor/model by a large numbers of his fans at Janak Restaurant Greater Kailash Jammu.
Arjun Mahajan has done more than 100 commercial ads in TV and also acted in TV serials like “Raja Ki Ayegi Baraat” and in few movies.
Now he is coming as a lead hero role in his debut Hindi movie produced by Aruna Irani "Raqt Ek Rishta”.
While interacting with media Arjun Mahajan thanked the people of Jammu for their love and blessings.
He said, “I am really thankful to the people of my region as they encouraged me a lot”.
“I am going to pay obeisance the holy shrine of Maa Vaishno Devi so as to seek blessings for my upcoming movie, even I will pray for the peace and prosperity of the state,” he says.
He appealed the youth of Jammu to come forward and to join the film industry.
