Bhalla announces Rs. 68 lakh for GHS Digiana | Baba Sidh Goria Devsathan developed with all infrastructural facilities | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 10: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to visiting pilgrims at Baba Sidh Goriaji devsathan at Swankha village in Samba district like drinking water, regular power supply, healthcare, sanitation, security besides accommodation facilities. This was stated by the Minister while reviewing the arrangements made by the district administration for the smooth conduct of week long annual fair at the Baba Sidh Goria ji Devsathan which is commencing from today in Swankha village. District Development Commissioner, Samba . Mubarak Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, . Israr Khan besides other senior officers of PHE, PDD, RDD, R&B, Tourism, Security and Traffic departments were present on the occasion. Bhalla asked the officers to remain present in the devsathan even in odd hours and come up to the expectations of the visiting pilgrims. He asked the Assistant Regional Transport Officer and Traffic police will ensure adequate number of Mini Buses and Autos on the route so as to avoid overloading and any inconvenience to the devotees. He asked the SSP to ensure foolproof security arrangements besides adequate deployment of police personnel including lady police in the Devsathan. He asked the CAPD department to ensure sufficient supply of ration and also to keep a check on the quality of food items which is being sold by the shopkeepers. The Minister expressed his extreme satisfaction that similar Mela at Baba Chamlayal Shrine was organized very successfully and arrangements were made to facilitate the huge gathering of 1.50 lakh pilgrims and hoped that the officers will maintain the same spirit to assure that this event also is organized in the same manner. Bhalla emphasized that District Samba has famous Shrines of Chichi Mata Temple, Baba Goran, Narsingh Dev Ji Temple, Utterbehani and Purmandal and all these shrines and temples attract lakhs of pilgrims not only from District and State but from the different parts of the Country which is instrumental to boost economy of the district. The Minister also inspected the stalls arranged by Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Handicrafts, Handloom, Floriculture, Tourism, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Rural Development, Health and Education departments in the Mela for highlighting the developmental activities of their respective departments and also disseminating the information related to employment schemes. Bhalla alongwith his wife s. Indira Bhalla also paid obeisance in the Baba Sidh Goria Devsathan and prayed for peace and prosperity of the State. Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone for construction of additional rooms, varanda including construction of compound wall at Government High School, Digiana, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 68 lakh under Rashtriya Madhyamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). He asked the executing agency to demolish unsafe declared rooms immediately and start fresh construction for them. Addressing a large gathering Bhalla said Central Government has allocated Rs 60 crore under RAMSA for opening and upgrading of High and Higher Secondary Schools in every constituency of the State with latest infrastructural facilities adding 69 schools would be upgraded under the scheme across the state. Bhalla informed that Rs. 58 lakh would be spent on construction of additional rooms and 15 lakh for science laboratories in each newly upgraded high and higher secondary school across the State. He said the Government has earmarked Rs. 25000 each for renovation of high school infrastructure and Rs. 50000 for Higher Secondary School infrastructure under RAMSA. The Minister said Government was making all out efforts to eradicate illiteracy from every nook and corner of the state by opening and upgrading scores of new schools. He asked the parents to send their wards to schools so that they could become good citizens of the country. He said today the Government institutions have highly qualified and meritorious staff and better infrastructure adding that the schools also achieved cent percent results in board examinations. He said the Government is also providing scholarships, free uniforms and free books to the children upto 8th class. Responding to people’s demand, . Bhalla asked the officers to ensure regular power supply in metered areas. He informed that Government has earmarked Rs. 3.26 crore for construction of 10 MVA 33/11 KV receiving station at Sanjay Nagar adding the project is under progress on war footing, would be completed by September this year. He said on the commissioning, the power scenario in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Rampura and parts of Nai Basti would be improved to large extent. At Gangyal, the construction work of 350 meter long deep drain was started in the presence of the Minister, for which he announced Rs. 5.5 lakh. Responding to the people’s demand, . Bhalla asked the R&B authorities to prepare a detailed project report for construction of protection wall upto the level of road on the right embankment of Ranbir Canal at Gangyal.
