| Rakesh, Nisar re-appointed as Director on Board in JK Bank | | | EARL;Y TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, July 10: Chartered accountant Rakesh Gupta and economist Prof Nisar Ali have been reappointed as Directors on Board in Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the shareholders of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd here yesterday.
After withdrawing the scheduled agenda of the appointments of three nominees, Messers Dileep Kaul, G M Dagga and Sahni, the meeting reappointed both the outgoing Director, Rakesh Gupta and Nisar Ali. Earlier this year, both of them had been pushed to the exit as their names came out in the draw of lots.
Being the largest stakeholders, Government of Jammu and Kashmir is competent by rules to renominate any of the Directors losing tenure in annual draw of lots. At the eleventh hour, proposal of fresh appointment of three nominated candidates was withdrawn and Messers Rakesh Gupta and Prof Nisar Ali were renominated and subsequently reappointed as Directors on Board. Their first appointment had taken place in August 2009. Both will be now serving a fresh two-year term from today.
Meanwhile, Board of Directors of the bank held its first meeting here today after fresh constitution in its AGM on July 9th. All the Directors on Board, including the fresh appointees, participated in the meeting. |
