3 petrol pumps sealed, penalty of Rs 50,000 realized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 10: Three petrol pumps established at two hilly districts of Bhaderwah and Kishtwar were sealed and penalty of Rs 50,000 imposed on them for selling less fuel to consumers, beyond the permissible limits against 5 liters calibrated measures. The raid was conducted by join teams of Legal Metrology department of Jammu and Doda under the supervision of Manoj Prabkar, deputy director and Amarjeet Singh, joint director, Legal Metrology department. Prabar, when contacted informed that the whip was cracked on the petrol pumps following the complaints of the illegal petrochemical trade in twin hilly districts. He said that trio petrol pump namely Shivam Filling Station, Bhaderwah, Hill View Filling Station and Sen Filling Station,Kishtwar were sealed. The owners were booked underweights and measures law and an amount of Rs 50,000 as penalty was imposed on them which were realized later from the defaulters. While the ownership of the pumps was not confirmed on spot , but their dispensing units and their record books were seized for re-verification, officer added. |
