| Panchayats would be empowered soon: Soz | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, July 11 (KNS): Pradesh Congress Committee President and former Union Minister, Prof Saif-ud-Sin Soz Monday said that Panchs and Sarpanchs would be empowered soon.
After meeting with Governor N N Vohra, here at Raj Bhawan,Soz told KNS that empowering recently elected panchs and sarpanchs would be a grass roots development. “In order to address public issues Panchayats play a vital role,” he said.
Recalling his recent visit to Pakistan he said that there was much room for positive development at diplomatic and regional levels. “The mood of civil society in Pakistan is a clear indication of a positive change in relation with the affairs of Kashmir,” he said.
Soz said that Pugwash Conference was also a sign of development. “Various issues regarding Kashmir were discussed and it was promised that a resolution for be drafted in future,” he said.
