Chamber of LoC Trade meet Guv, submits memorandum

SRINAGAR, July 11:
A delegation of the Chamber of LoC Trade, Jammu and Kashmir met . N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today and submitted a Memorandum of their demands to him.
The demands presented by the delegation led by Mohammad Tariq Khan, President of the Chamber included, interalia, review of Standard Operating Procedure for cross-LoC trade after every three months, facilitating regular Zero Point meetings of traders from both sides, monthly visits of delegations of LoC traders for trade talks and waiver from the payment of VAT on items covered under LoC trade.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and informed them that he shall take up all these issues with the Union Home Minister.
The 6-member delegation comprised Hilal Ahmad Turki, Rajan Zahoor Khan, Asif Akbar Lone, Farooq Ahmad Baghu and Mohammad Syed Khan.
R K Goyal, Principal Secretary to the Governor, was present on the occasion.
