‘Role of NGOs, social organizations pivotal for service of humanity’
Mangat appreciates Bharat Vikas Parishad for its Samaritan role

JAMMU, NOV 27
Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has said that social organizations and NGOs has to play an important role in the service of suffering Humanity.
He was speaking at a function organized to inaugurate Bharat Vikas parishad which is formally registered as (Cheritable Trust) in J&K. The function was organized by the Samparak Sabayog Sanskar Seva Samarpan associated by Bharat Vikas Parished, (BVP) a social organization working for welfare of handicapped, deaf and dumb and visually impaired persons Mr. Sharma said that our state is confronting with militancy and large number of civilians, Army and Para Military forces generally get trapped in bomb blasts and lose their limbs and the need services of such organization which provides them artificial limbs. Appreciating noble service of BVP which runs Trauma Hospitals, artificial limb manufacturing units and many allied activities related with physical challenged persons in many states of the country, Mr. Sharma said that the BVP has established 12 units in J&K and provided 20 artificial limbs to the needy in Jammu district and 63 in Udhampur district. He assured that Government will extend all possible assistance for extending their activities in other districts of the state.
Mr. Sharma also distributed 10 hearing aids provided by the BVP free of cost. Dr. Anish Choudhary specialist ENT, GMC checked and examined the patients and recommended for their provision of hearing aid. Similarly Dr. Dara Singh of Orthopdeics GMC Jammu extended his service for registering and examining the needy handicapped for plantation of artificial limbs.
Secretary BVP Mr. I.D Ojha giving a brief of activities of Bharat Vikas Parishad said BVP has 1300 branches all over India and runs Trauma Centres and 13 limb manufacturing units in different states of the country and works for physically challenged persons of the society free of costs. He said in addition BVP is also working for the character building in youth, organizes programme for children “Bharat Ko-Jano” group discussions debates, quiz competitions, Yog,Gayan, Darshan and Sadhana etc.
Secretary BVP Mr. I.D Ojha, Dr. Santosh Gupta, Dr. Anish Choudhary ENT, Dr. Dara Singh retired principal Subash Gupta and many retired and in service Doctors, Professors, Surgeons, Office bearers of BVP, prominent citizens and large number of beneficiaries attended the function.
