| IG CRPF briefs Governor | | |

SRINAGAR, July 11:
Dr Ravi Prakash, Inspector General CRPF (Administration), Srinagar, called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here today.
During the meeting, the Inspector General CRPF briefed the Governor about the functioning of the CRPF in the Srinagar district and upto the Baltal Base Camp, which sector also falls under his charge.
The Governor discussed with Dr Prakash several aspects of security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra and how access control could be improved further.
In regard to maintenance of Internal Security, the Governor was keen to know the revised Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding crowd control/management by using non-lethal gadgetry as against lethal weapons. Dr Prakash briefed the Governor in detail in this regard.
This was Dr Prakash’s first meeting with the Governor after taking over as the IG, CRPF (Administration), Srinagar, recently.
The Governor wished him a very successful tenure.
