| One day Plus 2 lecturers’ conference | | Comprehensive education policy, upgradation of infrastructure on government’ s priority: Peerzada | | Jammu, Nov 27 Minister for Education Haj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, today said that establishment of a modern system of education through an efficient policy, besides consolidation of infrastructure at all institutions is the ultimate objective of the present government. Minster was speaking at inaugural function of one day plus 2 lecturer’s conference. Minister for Health Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, besides, Minister of State for Education S. Manjit Singh, Secretary Education Khazer Mohammed Wani and Director Education Jammu Mr. DK Vaid were also present at the conference. Highlighting the importance of having a sound education system, Peerzada said, reconciliation of infrastructure at every education institution both new and old is among first priorities of the government. He said thousands of new schools have been opened and existing schools upgraded during last three years adding that now government has taken up the task of consolidation of infrastructure to facilitate effective functioning of these institutions. He said reformative and expansion measures are directed towards attaining total literacy rate within the targeted period. Seeking the cooperation of the teacher’s fraternity in attaining the set targets, he said, “all of us have to work as a team to make the breakthrough”. He said though, some far reaching measures have been taken to bring the education sector back on track, there is still much to do.” Responding to the demands raised by the plus 2 lecturer Forum, Minster said he is working out a comprehensive education policy besides having provisions for evolving an efficient education system would also take care of transfers, timely promotions and other problems of teaching community. He said the policy would be devised in such a manner that no one should feel denied of his rights. Minster for Health Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma congratulated the lecturer’s Forum for organizing such a grand conference. He said teachers have great responsibility of shaping the future of the country, which they should shoulder with utmost honesty and dedication. |
