| Suman chairs PUC meet, discusses functioning of PDD | | |

The Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) headed by its Chairperson, MLA Ms. Suman Bhagat held a meeting here today and reviewed the overall functioning of Power Development Corporation (PDC). Committee also discussed Audit Paras of Comptroller and Auditor General’s Report for the year 2000-01, 2002-03 and 200-03-04 pertaining to the PDC.
Committee directed the PDC officers to be more cautious while executing various projects and codal procedure should be adhered to at all costs thereby making lessor scope for audit objections. Committee stressed for maintaining close coordination between the Corporation and Accountant General and all the queries raised by the audit parties need to be attended on priority with proper justification to resolve petty issues, the Committee observed.
To settle some old paras of CAG Report, the Committee desired the presence of then officers and directed the Assembly Secretariat to invite all such officers who were associated during the time of such audit paras. The Managing Director, PDC Mr. Shelendra Kumar who was also present in the meeting was asked to identify these officers and ask them to be present in the next meeting of the Committee. Committee decided to go for on-spot inspection of some on-going power projects in the State.
Among others the meeting was attended by legislators, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veei, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Mr. M.Y.Shah, Mr. Syed Bashir, Dr Ghulam Nabi Bhat and Principal Secretary, PDD Mr. Madhav Lal, Deputy Accountant General, J&K, Director Accounts & Treasuries, Additional Secretary, Assembly Mr. Mohammad Ramzan and other senior officers of PDC. |
