Concrete steps for reviving dev profile of State: Bhalla

Jammu; July 11: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today said government has taken concrete steps to revive overall developmental profile of the three regions of the State adding that sectors like PHE, PDD, Health, R&B, Education, Tourism among other sectors have received focused attention.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after laying foundation stone for construction of 1-km long link road including upgradation of lanes and drains of Chib Mohalla at Raipur Satwari, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 14 lakh, here today.
Bhalla informed that crores of rupees have been earmarked for construction of link roads, recreational parks, bridges, culverts, tube wells, receiving stations, hospitals, schools besides lanes and drains in rural areas at par with urban pockets. He stressed upon the concerned engineers to redouble their efforts in completing the all ongoing works within stipulated time frame. He directed them to use quality material in execution of the works, adding that the objective of the Government is to build durable basic infrastructure for providing better civic facilities to the people.
Responding to the locals demand, the Minister asked them to donate land for construction of Over Head Tank (OHT) at Chib Mohalla. He said with the construction of OHT, the discharge of drinking water in the locality would be improved to a large extent. For providing adequate drinking water facilities in Barzalla, Sumali Mohalla and Chatha and its adjoining villages, the Government has already dedicated Rs. 3.25 crore three 25000 gallon discharge capacity deep drill tube wells to the people including laying of pipes in the uncovered areas. For upgradation of Chandmari road upto Barzalla village, he said
Government has prepared a comprehensive plan for upgrading and road widening of the link road, the work could be started shortly after completing tendering formalities.
At Barzalla village, Bhalla also inspected the ongoing furnishing works of multipurpose community hall, for this purpose government has earmarked Rs. 87 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete all the allied works within 15 days so that the hall could be handed over to the poor sections of the village for arranging social as well as religious functions there on nominal fee. Regarding construction of
100-meter irrigation channel at Barzalla village, he asked the I&FC to prepare estimates and submit the same for funding so that the modernization work of the channel could be started.
Earlier, several deputations from Chatha Pind, Bhour Camp, Sumali Mohalla, Bhour Camp, Bahu Fort, Bathindi, Sunjwan met the minister and apprised development related hardships of their respective areas.
Bhalla gave patient hearing to them and assured their genuine demands would be resolved in a phased manner.
Later, the Minister also visited Karayani Talab in Bathindi and inspected the construction work of 12000 gallon discharge capacity deep drill tube well, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 1 crore including laying of water supply pipes in uncovered areas of the village.
Interacting with the locals, Bhalla said that coalition government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of all the three regions with special focus on drinking water, regular power supply, road connectivity, healthcare and education at their doorsteps, adding that various initiatives were taken in this regard.
He said that Rs. 222 crore have been spent for augmentation of drinking water facilities in his constituency by constructing tube wells, laying of water supply pipes in uncovered areas besides construction of Over Head Tanks.
