7/12/2011 12:14:29 AM

EALY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July 11: All J&K Movement for Peace and Justice (AJKMPJ) have expressed grave concern over shortage of drinking water in Hagoona.
Kuldeep Kumar Rao an executive member of the movement and Behari Lal Bhagat an active member of All J&K Movement for Peace and Justice (AJKMPJ) block Thathri appealed to chair person Sonia Gandhi , General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah that the acute shortage of water is causing great trouble to the villagers of Hagoona.
They urged the Central government & State government that if drinking water can not be arranged for them, then arranges some other place for the villagers for migration.
It is impossible in the village to survive without water, they said.
Rahul Gandhi has launched a campaign to provide all basic facilities to backward villages, especially those of Dalit population, yet the voice of S/C population of village Hagoona for provision of drinking water has remained unheeded for the last so many years. Deputy Commissioner Doda had also strongly directed the PHE authorities to provide this facility but they have conveniently ignored his directions, giving lame excuses for this defiance.
As per remarks of PHE Minister,Chief Engineer, PHE, Deputy Commissioner Doda, PHE, Exn. Doda that drinking water facility to village Hagoona shall be provided as and when the dispute of village Shote and Inderalla is settled and the dispute have since been settled and drinking water is provided to village Shote. But it is unfortunate to submit that no action seems to have been taken so for to extend pipeline from Shote to Hagoona, although we represented our this problem so many times to the concerned quarters but without any solution as yet.
AJKMPJ requested to the higher authorities to take immediate necessary steps for provision of drinking water to the poor people of village Hagoona by extending pipe line from Shote to Hagoona on humanitarian grounds with out further delay.
