Social organizations condemn police for no action against oil mafia | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, July 11: Illegal trade of fuel is on rise in mountainous district Kishtwar and the police are a mute spectator. In a recent development, a local journalist who tried to raise the issue and lodge a complaint before police was manhandled and threatened by the oil mafia. As per details Balbir Jamwal, a local reporter when saw few persons carrying on the illegal trade near Sangrambhata immediately called upon police officers and at the same time all of a sudden the goons who were refilling their vehicle attacked upon him and also threatened him of dire consequences. As per Jamwal they informed him that they are the men of a local congress MLA. The journalist however managed to save his life and brought the matter into the notice of police but till date no case has been registered. However police while admitting that they have knowledge of the incident but in absence of any written complaint they are not able to take cognizance. So far as illegal trade of oil is concerned SP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tuti says that they have no concrete proof and the matter is of technical nature. Mean while various social and political organisations have condemned the incident and have demanded action against the culprits. Among others who condemned the incident include Dist President Congress Pardeep Singh Parihar, Dist President PDP Shjakir Siddiqui, BJP state secretary Sunil Sharma and Dist president NC ST cell Noor Mohammad Kaloo. Whereas at district headquarter working journalist Association Kishtwar held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Sheikh Nasir Hussain and condemned the incident they demanded the action against the culprit and stressed upon the police to book the Oil mafia. |
