GEJAC demands revised road map for payment of arrears
7/12/2011 12:25:54 AM
EARLY TIMZES REPORT
JAMMU, July 11:
The Government Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC) strongly urged upon the Government to immediately order implementation of release of 16% DA in favour of PSU employees without any delay besides fulfilment of other demands.
The demand was raised in a meeting of GEJAC held here today to discuss various issues of the employees of the State viz-a-viz response of the State Government after one day strike of the employees held in the month of April, 2011.

The employees also demanded announcement of revised road map for payment of arrears to employees at the central govt. pattern in two equal instalments, regularization of contractual, adhoc and daily wage workers, removal of pay anomalies in different cadres particularly the clerks, budgetary support to the PSUs and enhancement of retirement age to 60 years.
The meeting was held under the presidium of Subhash Verma, Gafoor Dar, Ganesh Khajuria, Jaswant Singh, Pardip Sharma (GMC), Suresh Sharma, Amrik Singh.
Prem Singh Bawa and Ravi Singh Bhau.
It was noted with concern that the coalition Govt, instead of conceding the pending demands, is desperately engaged in the disuniting the employees on one or the other issues. The leaders attending the meeting warned the Govternment of its divisive tactics and made it clear that there is no other employees’ body in Jammu other than the GEJAC.
To avoid confusion and misgivings created by some elements from Jammu misusing the name of GEJAC and trying to serve the purpose of the Govt. following resolution was unanimously adopted.
The GEJAC discussed threadbare the recent statements of the some leaders giving impression in the media that they are the sole representatives of the employees of the State particularly Jammu Region. The unfounded statements are nothing but to meet their selfish goals and hidden objectives at the behest of the Govt. It is emphatically made clear that there is only one GEJAC which has been formed with taking all the trade Union leaders of the relevant EJACs and other bodies into confidence and is in the process of the struggle of the employees.
The employees are accordingly informed through medium of this statement to expose the ulterior motives of the elements within the employees fraternity who were in hibernation till Secretariat was at Jammu.
