Jmmu, July 12: State BJP has demanded to bring Desa Valley of Doda tehsil under tourism sector by creating either Desa development authority or to be included under Bhaderwah development authority for its over all development.
This was stated by the State vice president and former MLA Bali Bhagat after concluding week long extensive tour of remote and hilly area of Desa.

Excellent scenic, religious places at high altitude are the short distances ranging from a few kms to 10 kms.
Even walk or horse ride to these places is enchanting.
There are numerous spots of scenic splendors and snow winter. Hundreds of pilgrimage tourists from different walks of life have started visiting the famous Ruder-Ganga, Chound Mata and Sarwa Dhar yatra from last 25 years.
Desa can also become hub of pilgrimage activity. Tourists will fall in love with Desa at first sight if developed through road communication.
There are lush green meadows, rolling hills, widespread conifers and challenging rock faces.

Dhoks (a cluster of hutments) and margs (meadows at the altitude of above 9,000 ft.) remain uninhabited for about six months during winter season due to remaining under cover of snow. In the beginning of spring when snow melts from the upper reaches of dhoks and margs, Gujjar Bakerwal tribes, Gaddies and pahari speaking people of erstwhile Doda district and other districts start pouring in this nature blessed area with their flock of sheep, herds of goats, fleet of horses, cattle, dogs, baggage and luggage to pass the summer season.
The whole Dessa Valley is a combination of snow capped peaks, mighty mountains, green forests, glaciers, streams, water falls dhoks and margs.
As per the estimate nearly 60 charming dhoks and 27 margs are existing in the Dessa valley.
