PHE employees protest against non-implementation of government order | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 12: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association (Affiliated with INTUC) protested against non-implementation of government order regarding enhancement of daily rate worker wages. A protest rally was held at PHE complex B.C. Road, Jammu today under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma-president INTUC J&K, to protest against the callous attitude of the PHE authorities by not implementing the government order to pay Rs. 110/- per day to the daily rate workers engaged by the department, besides the medical claims, GPF etc. are being over delayed. Speaking on the occasion Sharma said that Minister for PHE has announced publically that all the workers engaged by the department will get Rs. 110/- per day and circular in this regard has also been issued by the government. But it is unfortunate that the government order is not implemented and the labour class people are suffering hard. He criticized Chief Account Officer (CAO) for his callous attitude towards the low paid employees and the labour class workers. . He (Sharma) urged upon the PHE authorities to release the wages of the daily rate workers/ causal/need basis employees engaged by the government without further loss of time. The medical claims, GPF etc. should also be disposed off well in time. He also advised CAO to mend his way of working in the larger interest of the labour class workers. The protest rally was also addressed by Vinod Kumar, Vijay Luthra, Raman Kumar, Vijay Gupta, Madan Lal, Ravi Kumar, Mongal Dass, Ram Paul Saini, Naresh Kumar, Joginder Pal and others.
