Soz to take personal interest in public works | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 12:
Former Union Minister and President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Prof. Saifuddin Soz Tuesday said that he would take personal interest in the accomplishment of public works in the state.
Addressing a gathering at Tral, he said that projects like Lidder Irrigation Project, Batnoor and Lam Drinking water Project, Nagbari Tourist Resort Project would be completed soon. “All their developmental demands would be met as early as possible,” he said.
Soz assured the people that their developmental demands would be taken first priority. “The public works are a first priority and would be taken a serious priority,” he said.
The PCC chief said that he would request the State’s Health Minister to improve health care facilities in hospitals. “Healthcare will be a main issue to focus at,” he said.
Asking PHE Department to address public demands for drinking water in these areas, Soz sanctioned Rs 5 lakh each for the Tral villages-Punir Jageer and Batagund-for construction of Tube wells.
He assured people that Congress would do everything possible to strengthen Panchayati Raj System in the state. “We will make Panchayat Raj a success so that people enjoy democracy and fruits of development at their door steps,” he said.
He said that UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s initiative to resume dialogue process with Pakistan would be a success. “Several CBMs were in the pipeline and these would offer a lot of relief to Civil Society on both sides,” he said adding he was hopeful that dialogue between Centre and the J&K State leaders would also be resumed effectively.
