Weekly Sangarmal is now daily | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 12:
While the race of launching Kashmiri newspapers hits the agenda of various publications, Kashmir Media Group on Tuesday launched Daily Sangarmal here at SKICC.
Director Information, Farooq Renzushah said that Kashmir language had to evolve in both print as well as in electronic media. “Kashmiri language has to be the print and electronic message over the scene,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rather said that palace of Kashmiri language was being built.
Veteran journalist of the Valley, Shujaat Bukhari said that his dream had come true. “With the launch of daily Sangarmal I feel complete,” he said.
He said that absence of a daily Kashmiri newspaper was the biggest weakness of the journalism in Kashmir. “Once I was asked why Kashmir doesn’t have a Kashmiri newspaper. I was mute, then,” he said adding his dream had come true.
Minister of State for Home, Nasir Sogami said that translation ‘mania’ had to be stopped. “What we do here is that we translate from English to Kashmiri. This has to stopped and replaced by a conscious society who can read and write mother language,” he said.
Famous Kashmiri poet Rehman Rahi said that the Kashmiri language had to be adorned, so that there is complete transformation of thoughts.
Journalists, writers, filmmakers and jurists also attended the function. Copies of first issue of Sangarmal were distributed among the audience on the occasion. (KNS)
