Bid to grab government land foiled at Kote | DC, SSP Jammu efforts appreciated | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 12: A bid to grab government land worth crores have been foiled by timely intervention of DC Jammu Sanjeev Varma and SSP Jammu Anand Jain here in Kote toady. As per information, some people of the Kote Bhalwal informed Tehsildhar Jammu that some land mafia were making bid to grab water bodies (Gar Mumkin Khud) in the area. Worthwhile to mention here that government has put blanket ban on the water bodies for the quite some time. The matter was reported to the DC Jammu Sanjeev Verma who rang to SSP Jammu and apprised the matter. A revenue team consisted of Tehsildhar Jammu along with contingent of police was dispatched to the spot. On seeing the police team the persons who were on bid to grab the land escaped from the spot leaving JCCB machine, which was reportedly seized by police. DC Jammu when contacted appreciated the role of people in giving information to the revenue department. He said that a written complaint is being dispatched to police by the revenue department against the incident. SP Rural Rakesh Sharma said, when contacted, that a case against the land mafia is to be registered following receiving of complaint. |
