Hindu, KP organizations contradict July 13 history | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 12: Not ready to accept July 13 as Martyrs Day the Kashmiri Pandits and other Hindu organizations have again decided to observe July 13 as black day. The various KP organizations including Panun Kashmir, All Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference, (AKPSC), All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC), Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) Roots In Kashmir (RIK) as well as J&K Peoples Forum, Bajrang Dal (BD) and Vishaw Hindu Parishad (VHP) have termed it a black day in the history of Kashmir. These organizations while challenging the separatists of Kashmir and Hurriyat leadership for terming the July 13 as Martyrs Day said that on this day first communal conflict took place in Valley on the behest of Britshers. It was one Abdul Qadir a cook from Peshawar who on the behest Britishers exploited the Kashmiri Muslims on communal violence. On the day in 1931 an open war was declared against the Dogra rulers and Pandits of Kashmir by setting up various KP houses on ablaze perpetuating a loot on the community in different parts of Valley forcing the Government to take action against the frenzy mob. These Hindu and KP and Hindu organizations while challenging the Hurriyat and separatists by observing the day as martyrs Day said the separatists and Hurriyat were distorting history this way .It was a movement based on communalism said Kundan Kashmiri president KPC. He said the Pandits all over India will observe the day as black day in protest against the killing of their brethren and perpetuating of loot and setting their properties ablaze on this day in 1931. He said KPs will wear black badges and maintain a total black out by switching off the lights of their houses, hold public meetings and oppose any tokenism on the return of the community to Valley. Khem Raj a VHP leader said that July 13 is a black day in the history as on this day a revolt stared against the then Maharaja who was a Hindu ruler on the basis of communalism. ``We must strongly resist against the hurriyat game plan who are linking it with freedom struggle'', he added. The Panun Kashmir, RIK, ASKPC, ADKPSC and other Hindu organizations who have been observing the July 13 as Black Day since 1990 have decided to hold corner meetings and other programmes to highlight the atrocities committed on the community on this day in 1931. We will continue our struggle and protest against the perpetuators of violence and those elements who were responsible for mass exodus of the community from Valley in 1989 -90'' and will not rest till the struggle launched for a separate homeland reaches to its logical conclusion, said Rajinder a PK activist. Justifying the homeland demand he said since Muslims have rejected co-existence and pluralistic character of Kashmir in 1990, there can be no compromise on homeland demand now, he added. |
