CEO advises Yatris with medical problems not to embark on pilgrimage | Shri Amarnathji Yatra-2011 | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, JULY 13: Chief Executive Officer Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board R K Goyal, has yet again appealed to all those intending pilgrims to undertake the Yatra to the Shri Amarnathji Holy Shrine to most carefully read the Do’s and Don’ts which are printed on the reverse of the Yatra Permit and are also available at the Board’s website before deciding to undertake the Yatra. Recalling the number of precious lives lost in the past years he observed that 49 pilgrims had lost their lives this year the large majority of them due to serious cardiac problems and failures. In this context he urged all pilgrims to take all required precautions and cautioned that no person who has a serious medical or orthopaedic ailment, or any breathing, chest or heart problem should think of undertaking this arduous Yatra, which involves climbing upto nearly 14,000 feet. He emphasized that every Yatri even those in good physical condition must carry the medicine, which he is required to take daily, if any, and, besides, some general medicines such as Glucose, Disprin, Combiflam, Moove/Iodex, etc.
