7/13/2011 10:42:36 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 13: The Director CAPD called a meeting in his office chamber with the representatives of Food & Allied workers union, Jammu which have been on strike for the last one weak to resolve the demands including the implementation of Government Order No: Govt. Order No: 117-CAPD of 2009 Dated: 29-12-2009 granting; Provident Fund; ESI; Gratuity; wages through Cheque etc and Govt. Order No: 09-CAPD of 2010 Dated: 29-01-2010 bringing 668 CAPD labourers under the purview of MGW working in Mufassil depots have not been implemented
The leaders of the union while participating in the meeting expressed their great concern over the non implementation of above referred Government Orders in which the Minister has taken specially favourable interest and director has issued the same to the concerned assistant directors vide letter no:DCAPDJ/456-F/2010/1093-1103 Dated: 29-11-2010 but unfortunately the concerned officers are not paying any heed towards the directions of the Minister and the Director which is a matter of great concern.
While discussing, the Union leaders stated that the officers/officials at District & Tehsil level are not keen to introduce the new system and are ignoring the directions of the higher authorities. They want to keep the previous practice in vogue for their personal interests and treating the workers as bonded labourers in these days .
The Director in the meeting gave a patient hearing and took a serious note of it and asked for a time period of 15 days for implementing all Government orders.
He asked the union leaders to call off their on going strike at the earliest. The union leaders showed a full faith to the words of Director and decided to defer the ongoing strike till July 31, 2011 and said that in case the benefits are not given to workers by the stipulated date the strike would be intensified again on August 1, 2011 at all costs.
