10 days educational tour organized for students of Akhnoor | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 13: Students from remote areas of Akhnoor sub division proceeded on a 10 day educational tour to Delhi, Dehradun and Mussorie. ‘Senitels Of Chenab’ Brigade under the aegis of the Crossed Swords Division flagged off the tour for the children. The tour was flagged off by Maj General Rakesh Sharma, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division. Two teachers and twenty three children are visiting various places of interest to include Red Fort, India Gate, Qutub Minar, Lotus temple and Akshar Dham temple in Delhi. In Dehraddun they will be visiting Indian Military Academy, Forest Research Institute and Buddha Monastery. Subsequently, they will be visiting Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy of Administration and Indo-Tibet Border Police Training Academy at Mussorie. The tour is being organised to give the students an opportunity to visit other parts of the country and interact with the people of rest of the country and build bridges of friendship. Jagdev Singh, school teacher accompanying the students said that this endeavor of Army has brought smile to the faces of children and this would be a great opportunity for learning and becoming more responsible citizens of India.. Parents of the children who were present during the flagging off ceremony were equally excited to see their children going on this trip which they said would be a life time experience for them.
