| Dr. Vivek present paper on marriage ritual | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu: July 13 : Dr. Vivek Sharma, Academic Co-ordinator, Kathua Campus Jammu University presented paper at 4th south and south East Asian Association for the study of culture and religion (SSEASR) international conference at Royal university of Bhutan, Thimpu.
SSEASR, an affiliated organization of UNESCO organized an international conference on ‘Mountain in the religion of South and South East Asia: Place, culture and Power at Royal University of Bhutan, Thimpu.
In the conference more than 70 countries delegates were present.
Dr. Vivek Sharma presented his research paper entitled “Marriage ritual among the Jammu Dogras” during this conference which was attended by more than 300 delegate from different countries universities across the world.
During the paper presentation, Dr. Vivek Sharma highlighted the customs and traditions of Jammu Dogras in J&K.
He also said that Jammu and Kashmir is divided into three regions i.e. Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Jammu is dominated by Dogras, Kashmir by Muslims and Ladakh by Buddhists.
