| Weekend Trips of Jammu Ministers punch holes in Exchequer……? | | | Early Times Report
srinagar, July 13: Flouting Chief Minister's directions to keep the secretariat fully functional at Jammu during summer months, the ministers visit the winter capital as per their own convenience. The ministers have been accused of ignoring the roaster prepared by the general administration department.
The lapse on the part of the ministers has adversely affected the functioning of the secretariat at Jammu.
Normal functioning has resumed after Chief Minister intervened.
The things have been streamlined also on account of current Amarnath Yatra, when the presence of Ministers becomes all the more important to take stock of the arrangements, almost on day to day basis.
It has observed during the last few most of the Jammu based minister come here on weekends and their visits remain confined to political constituencies instead of catering and utilizing it for general public. They do not bother to spend few hours in the Secretariat to listen to the grievances of the public. They summon the senior administrative and police officials and give them directions, instructions which best suits and serves the personal or political interests.
Their visits are merely burden on exchequer coming here on every week end means a whole lot of expenditure not only on their air trips but also on personal staff, besides fuel used for cavalcade of their vehicles. High time Chief Minister takes note of these Week end trips. |
